Health Updates on US!
~Went off BCPs January 9, 2006 due to the physical problems it was causing.   Using alternative methods for Birth control.

~October 4, 2006 dx with diagnosed with PCOS (Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome).
After numerous amounts of reserach regarding PCOS and a Dr. visit when I was told that I'm most likely not Ovulating on my own, we decided that I would start temping my BBT in hopes of finding that I do Ovulate.   Unfortunately, I do not have a clear Ovulation patter...

We have started seeing a Holistic Dr., April 2007, in hopes of getting some answers to our underlying health concerns...

~Charles was pinpointed with Pituatary Gland, Thyroid Gland, Adrenal Gland, and Prostate Gland malfunctions.

~Meghan was pinpointed with Pituatary Gland, Ovaries, and Adrenal Glad malfunctions.

--We both have since started testing to pinpoint even furthur what is going on with us.   We hope to get results back in about 2-3 weeks from ALL the tests, yes, multiple tests that span over SEVERAL days...   We will keep everyone posted as to what is going on!   :-)
Update 04/15/2007
Started taking the AP Mag (whatever) for the G.I. test (yes, we have to send in poop samples!) and Meghan has started the saliva testing done every other day.   Charles completed one test today, a urine test that is to be sent off tomorrow.   It is exciting to know that they are testing for something other then the usual levels, this is MUCH more indepth!   VERY exciting and we cannot wait to get the results back and get moving on our "healing process".   :-)
UPDATE 4/26/07
We have mailed off three more tests.   Charles is now 100% complete with his testing but Meghan still has to finish the everyother day saliva test and a urine test.   (I have to eat at least 12 ounces of meat in one day and well, that's hard since I'm NOT a huge meat eater!)   That's it...   So we go back next week for another follow up appt. (Meghan has 8 and Charles has 6 of these!)   Yeah.
UPDATE 05/01/07
First off, I cannot believe it's already May!!   29 days until my birthday!   I'll be 16 again this year for those of you who are wondering... :-)   We went to the Dr. again and they restested us.   I was given an Organic Mineral Compound to take twice a day, one with breakfast and one with lunch.   Charles was given a biomedical....... to help with the low testosterone levels and all.   We were both also put on a "Liver enhancing diet" for at least the next 14 days.   This consists of NO animal byproduct (meats, dairy, etc) and lots and lots and LOTS of veggies and fruits.   It shall be interesting!   An example of a morning meal is glazed mushrooms with onions.   Can we say YUCK??   So, we'll make little improvements here and there as we see fit...
UPDATE 05/21/2007
Today we did not have a Dr's appt, I'm just really slacking on updates.   Sorry.   Quick update here.   Last week when we went, I was given Ovex-P and was told it is famous for having huge success with those with PCOS.   I practically jumped up and down after getting this!   He said that I would probably notice some changes and rather quickly.   Well, I think as of yesterday I had the first of hopefully a lot of differences happen.   I had several twinges and sharp little pains happening in my ovary areas and could just imagine the supplements attacking the cysts around my ovaries!   I like to believe that's what those bouts of pains were for at least...   I was also put on pregono....   something and for what?   I'm not 100% sure to be honest.   All I know is that it burns like crap under my tounge!!!   As for Charles, he was given a pro-biotic to combat his bacterial and E.Coli overgrowth he has in his intestines.   (Oh yeah, this was the visit we got our poop (GI test) test back!   We both have the same bacteria overgrowth but that's all I had.   Charles had the additional to deal with as well.   As of last Dr. visit, Charles had also lost 11 POUNDS!!!   GO CHARLES!!   :-)   Me, um, like none.   Yeah, no laughing please.   It sucks!   I also got my hair mineral test results back and found my Platinum is OFF THE CHARTS!   How?   Not sure...   I had a few others that were either low or high so that treatment is to come, furthur down the road.   I was also able to send off my last test, Hormonal Mapping, which I'm the most anxious to get back and see what it says!   Our next Dr. appt is in two days, Wednesday.   So, that's about all the updates until Wednesday!   Thanks for checking up on us!   :-)
UPDATE 06/06/07
Well.   They got my hormonal "mapquest" back and surprise, surprise.   I have a funky cycle!   LOL   Down below you can see the chart as I scanned it in.   The top is my Estrodial? and bottom is progesterone!   Now, the bottom is supposed to have a "plateau" and then drop, hence arrival of period.   mine gradually declines and which is why I get spotting now days before period arrival!   UGH!   So, he put me on ProGest drop which are a biomedical hormone.   He said to not get pregnant for the next three months.   (I told him won't be a problem!   We'll just continue as we were doing!   haha)   IF I did fall pregnant I would likely have an early miscarriage due to progesterone levels not being high enough to sustain a pregnancy.   So, I have to start my next cycle, which hopefully startes within the next day or two, and on cycle day 16 start with drops.   I'll start with 8 and gradually make my way up to 14 drops three times a day and then gradually back down to four drops and then stop and within the next day or two, period should arrive.   This should put me on a "clockwork" 30/31 day cycle!   I would be THRILLED about this!!!   :-)   What is nice, is unlike Birth control pills and the PMS cream I was on, when it's time for period arrival, I'm not just completely stopping and hence the horrible headache I was getting.   This is gradual and should not give me a bad headache.   He said to do this for THREE months and then my body SHOULD regulate itself!   :-)   YIPPEE!!!!!   We'll see....   oh, and he said that since I have not been loosing weight, it's all becuase my hormones are messed up and once those are fixed I should be fixed.   (And well, before having PCOS I wasn't overweight so I totally agree with this!)   Cannot wait to be back to "normal"!!!!!!   So, needless to say, i'm excited.   I can handle three months...   Also, told him about my horrible bloating I've been having and diarrhea and he said to stop the digestion support as my body has probably been healed in that department and see if I get acid refulx this next week...   That could be over-inhibiting my body and thus the horrible bloat.   So, since it was only me this week, you don't get an update on Charles.   Sorry.   So, can't wait until period officially arrives as I'll be on the countdown for day 16 to start the drops!!!   :-)   Thanks for caring!!!
UPDATE 06/10/07
I am SO thankful!   Not sure if it was the Ovex-P that did it or what BUT I only had a 25 day cycle my first full cycle on it!   :-)   This cycle I'm on Ovex-P AND Start the ProGest so I'm excited!   Just a little FYI for those keeping track...
I know it's not a very good scan but you can most certainly tell where my Platinum is OFF THE CHARTS!   Miss that?   You crazy!   Why?   Don't know.   Other areas look pretty good, like, normal good.   Calcium, Iron both in mid range along with a few others.   I have some really low elements as well...   Just hoping to get all this back in check and NORMALIZED!   :-)
This is the chart -------------> that I mention in UPDATE 06/06/07 post!
UPDATES!!!!!!   06/21 and 06/22

Okay, so long story short...   Since Progesterone delays or actually will inhibit Ovulation to occur when taken before/during Ovulation time, I started using Ovulation Predictor kits to help me pinpoint IF I am ovulating on my own... Well, yesterday I got my very first POSITIVE and so starting the ProGest on 6/22 worked out PERFECTLY!!!   Oh and let me just say, when doing the ProGest this morning for the first time...   IT BURNED LIKE I'D NEVER FELT BURN BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!   And I'm supposed to do this THREE times a day for 14 days???   OUCH!   I'm not going to have any skin left under my tounge!   :-(   I guess it's the price I'll pay to have a "normal" cycle again...   :-)   I'm just THRILLED I'm Ovulating ON MY OWN and can see that!!!
UPDATE 07.06.07

Today officially marks the first day of my new cycle!!!   I just completed my first month on ProGest and my cycle was 29 days!   WAHOO!!!   :-)   Although, I have to complain a bit...   I have not had a period this stinking painful since well, about 7 cycles ago!   I guess I can't have the best of both worlds... At least taking FOUR Motrin helps, A TON!   :-)   Oh and laying on my nice mattress heating pad on HIGH.   LOL   Whatever works, right??   So, just thought I'd update a little on what's been going on.   I am so excited to FINALLY start feeling like a "normal" human being again!!!   This is the FIRST chart I have that looks somewhat normal...   As in, I have a positive LH surge (which occurs just before Ovulation) and then my temps are nice and high (but a few I can accurately blame on a fever due to strep throat...) and then the best part, a NORMAL Luteal phase length!!!   (Which basically means it can sustain a pregnancy, as in when we decide to start trying down the road, as before it was between 3 and 9 days all which could not...)   So, that's all exciting news and I'm just so excited to see how the next several months pan out as well!   Thanks for following!!!   :-)
Started July 6, 2007

Well, here is my second cycle on ProGest...   My body had a mind of it's own during all this...   I was pregnant if only for a short time but sadly ended in my period showing.   A Chemical Pregnancy opposed to a missed m/c as I have been corrected on the terminology!   :-)   So, at least we know we CAN get pregnant and it will happen one day but it wasn't our time!   It really is comforting to know though that with all the odds against us and the Dr. telling me that I won't be able to concieve without fertility drugs and I'll probably need furthur assistance we did indeed get pregnant!   All in God's timing that it will end with a healthy baby for us!   So, that's the latest on the whole health updates...   Oh, the ProGest is being cut by 50% this cycle and if my body is still wack next cycle it'll be cut by another 50% and only started once Ovulation has been confirmed.   We'll see what happens!
Quack, Quack, QUACK!!
August 27, 2006 (nighttime!)

Well, I got some good news in regards to my Holistic health...   I suspectably (sp?) Ovulated Cycle Day 7 this go around (which is insane early!!!) and so I called the Dr. and he said not to go on the ProGest this cycle and see what happens AND then he P.S.'d in that I may not have to take the ProGest any longer as my body obviously knows what's going on and is working on it's own now!!!   :-)   YAY!!!   So, we'll "wait and see" what happens now...   Will keep you all posted!   At least for those that are still curious about my, ahem, HEALTH!   LOL   Will post the final chart once this cycle comes to a conclusion!
September 15, 2007

Here is a BEAUTIFUL chart!!!   No ProGest, No Supplements (whoops), No any "outside" help!!   Just my body doing what God intended for it to do all along!   :-)   Hopefully this will now be the norm for me...
February 9, 2008

We made the long anticipated journey back to the Doctor for another u/s and bloodwork to see how Meghan was doing with PCOS and all...   We were praying for good news.

When they were doing the u/s, Charles and Meghan did not see anything like they did on the first u/s that ultimately diagnosed her with PCOS.   On the first one, you could see what did look like a "strand of pearls".   Very interesting.   On this one, we could not see anything!   We were SO excited!   Then the Dr. comes into the room and says that it is indeed PCOS as their are still cysts all over my ovaries.   :-(   Looking at the pictures via u/s the Dr. said it did look like I have ovulated as I had "fluid in my cul-de-sac" and my endometrial lining was 7.9mm which was great!   Things were looking very good.   At least it was not even more bad news.   Meghan insisted upon having blood work done to check her progesterone levels to see if she did ovulate when she suspects or not.   The b/w came back as 0.5 for the Progesterone and that is NOT indicative of ovulation.   Such mixed results.   So, Meghan is chalking it all up to she was SO stressed out that cycle due to her 'Research and Statistics' coure and was in her last week when we went to the Dr.

So, that's the latest...   Same ole', same ole'.
Feel nice and healthy now?
